Course description

This class is provided for high school and Junior high students, young adults who enjoy making blogs and doing facebook pages, and want to take it to the next level. This class will provide a solid introduction to web layout designs and production, at the same time, providing an environment for them to be creative with computer technology.

Student is recommended to bring a laptop computer to the class.

Class outlines:

- Introduction to HTML (Let’s jump right into the production part and let the students get familiar with the coding process.)

- Introduction to web layout design and visual design using design tools such as FrontPage and DreamWaever(Students will become familiar with the design process and they will have a chance to use hands-on skills, such as drawing and photography.)

- Introduction to HTML/CSS (Students will learn how to organize website files and use Cascading Style Sheet to reuse a style within a website)

- Introduction to interactive design (Students will learn how to use open resources, eg. jQuery, that are available online to help their websites more interactive for the users.)
